Pediatric Cardiology Accomplishments
Mount Sinai Medical Center established the first dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Interventional Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization services in the New York region. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has also established premier services in Intraoperative Echocardiography, Pediatric Electrophysiology and Ablation, Pediatric Cardiac Transplantation, and Fetal Cardiology. The pediatric cardiology researchers at Mount Sinai discovered the genetic cause of Noonan Syndrome, a common genetic-cardiac syndrome. In addition, Mount Sinai instituted a unique Pediatric Cardiology Telemedicine System, allowing educational and patient related materials to be viewed among the various institutions in the Mount Sinai Regional Network.

Why Your Help Is Needed
With the increasing penetration of managed care and reduced reimbursements to hospitals and physicians, the Division of Pediatric Cardiology has faced unprecedented financial shortcomings. With the growing costs associated with both medical education and research, critical hospital funds for the Division of Pediatric Cardiology are simply unavailable. Through the benevolence and dedication of our members and friends, the Children's Heart Fund sponsors supplemental clinical, educational, research and social programs to benefit Pediatric Cardiology patients. Your commitment to the improved health and welfare of children with congenital heart disease is greatly appreciated. If you cannot afford a financial contribution, please donate a little bit of your time or just call with any ideas of suggestions.
